Let's get straight to the point, Def Jam Rapstar was given a "T" Rating (for Teen). This came from weeks and weeks of throwing down with our pals at the Entertainment Software Rating Board. When the smoke cleared, we came to a solid agreement and now it's all lovely.

We've gotten some feed back from a few users asking what exactly does that mean for their game experience. Will it mean that the lyrics will be censored to the point it sounds like Kanye West's performance [link] on the 2010 BET Awards? Nah, not happening. We'll be going with the television versions of the included tracks when you buy Def Jam Rapstar on October 5 in the US, November 4 in Europe.

Other than that, you'll have an easier time finding it in stores. Think about it, if we were to actually have the unedited version of Lil Wayne's "A Milli," floating around in your favorite family department store, we'd have sniper soccer moms popping rounds at us on every corner. So since the money were supposed to use on bullet proof vests went into finishing the game and we want to make sure that everyone gets a chance to get a copy with no problem, we stuck to the rules...kinda.

With that said, in the spirit of cleaning up potty mouths we'd like to share this video clip [link] that had us cracking up throughout the process.

Check out this interview clip we did with super producer DJ Khalil on what makes a beat maker different from a producer.

Since we went so street with the last three Def Jam Rapstar videos, we had to switch things up this time around with a live instrument. If you're not already familiar with Knewdles and S.O.S. of Misnomer(s), get to know them a little better with our latest promo video "Strings Attached."

The Brooklyn-based sister duo came with the heat in the clip and we got up with Knewdles to talk about her thoughts on Def Jam Rapstar and more.

What made you two decide to go with rhymes over a violin?

I think It's actually less about the instruments we play than the bond we share over music, and together as sisters. Music runs deep in our blood, and ours has happened to take the shape of hip-hop.

What did you think when you first heard of the Def Jam Rapstar video game?

That it's gonna be HUGE In Asia, lol, land of karaoke. I mean, it's a great Idea; in this day and age it's not who raps but who doesn't rap? I haven't played video games in years and I hate losing but this one I think I got a pretty good shot at bodying.

If you were to battle SOS in the game, which song (ever made) would you challenge her with?

I'd have to pick "Everyday Struggle" by Biggie. I've heard her rapping along with the song and I'm pretty sure she knows more of the lyrics than I do. It'd be like giving her a head start. I'd want her to at least have a shot at winning. LOL.

Which song is your favorite song (besides your own) to rhyme along with when you hear it?

Favorite? That's too hard. I think the first song I ever learned the lyrics to was "Big Poppa", so that always unlocks wonderful feelings. Although, "Anotha" off Life After Death is great in a different way cuz u get to do both male and female voices (B.I.G. and Lil' Kim). Also, I'm thinking of the second verse of Group Home's "Supa Star", It never fails to get me going. Same thing with Mos' verse on "B-Boy Document".

What is Misnomer(S) working on now that people should be on the look out for?

Mainly, we're working to release our debut album, "American Eyes". We're like the girls who cried "album release" but it's actually happening this year, in the first half of 2010. Also, several songs from the album make up the soundtrack to Nelson George's latest film series project, "Left Unsaid" which will be released this summer. We make a few appearances in it as well.

There's a very likely possibility that we will be travelIng to South Africa this summer to perform at the World Cup, so please send us good juju for that to happen! Keep in touch with us via Twitter: I'm @iknewdles, Sos is @sisonstrings, and Misnomer(S) is @misnomers. Or myspace/hiphopmisnomers, facebook/misnomers, or youtube/misnomermc.

    Pill

Atlanta doesn't seem to be slowing down at all when it comes to releasing talent. One of the A's newest and critically acclaimed is Pill who's rapid-fire lyricism is showcased on the latest Def Jam Rapstar video titled, "A-Town Stay Down." All it takes is one viewing of the video to see why Pill lives up to his much deserved hype.

What was the best thing you did to build your buzz?

First of all, I made sure the music was dope. Then, I made it available for free. On top of that, I did lot of free shows. That's the best way to build a buzz. People need to see and hear you in order to get into you and your music. If you want to win, you can't be shy.

What were your thoughts when you first heard of the Def Jam Rapstar video game?

I thought it was dope that you could actually rhyme along with your favorite rappers and come up with your own lyrics as well. It's a dope concept altogether.

Which song (besides your own) do you find your self rhyming along to the most when it comes on?

Jay Z "H to the Izzo." It's a very catchy song and the beat's amazing.

Being that players will be able to upload their freestyles to the Def Jam Rapstar site, how do you see yourself using the video game to promote your own music?

Well, I pretty much got a strong team to promote my music thus far considering i'm signed to a label. I don't think I would get on there to promote my music but I will definitely be playing it! LOL, I can't wait!

Which songs that came out of Atlanta would you most like to see included in the game?

I would want to see Outkast's "Ms. Jackson" in there. The beat to that song is crazy and the lyrical attack on it is phenomenal. I'd play that one all day.

What are you working on now that people should be looking forward to?

My new mixtape "1140: The Overdose" will be out late March or early April. Be on the look out for it.

If you want to keep up with Pill, catch him on Facebook and on Twitter

Atlanta's latest big buzz Donnis dropped by Def Jam Rapstar headquarters to have a quick chat after checking out an early build of the highly anticipated title. You should remember the emcee from his insane "Pay Attention Shawty" video he did promoting the DJR game. If you haven't seen it already it's nothing short of fire. Check out the ATL rap freshman's experience with Def Jam Rapstar.

What was your inspiration for the rhyme you did for the Def Jam Rapstar video?
I was starting a new mixtape project so my brain was already working. When it came time to shoot the spot, I was ready to go in.

Was it a written verse or was it off the top?
Yeah, it was written, but off the top ain't never a problem (laughs)

What did you think when you played the demo?
Loved it! The game is hot and I don't really play videos games like that. That says a lot about it, I think people will enjoy it as much as I did. You don't have to play it all day to understand it.

How do you see yourself in promoting your music through the game?
This can help a new artist get a buzz. It's kind of like putting out a mixtape through a video game. I would use it to test out my new stuff before i go into the studio. Gamers are always blunt and they never hold back. I know i'll get the truth from them.

Do you think you're strong enough in the game to start battling?
I'm good! I already beat the workers at the company [4MM Games, LLC and Def Jam Interactive]. You have to battle before you get respect. At least that's how it was for me growing up. I guess it all the same so whether I'm battling with my rhymes or playing Def Jam Rapstar, I'm going in.

Watch Donnis' Def Jam Rapstar video right here or head over to our YouTube channel to see more DJR affiliated talent.

Make sure to check out Donnis' Diary Of an ATL Brave, available now everywhere. His new mixtape, Southern Comfort, should be out later this month or the top of March. Check out www.donnismusic.com for more or hit him up on Twitter @donnisxdonnis.
