Def Jam Rapstar Is On Its Way |

After months of waiting for news on this game we finally got hit with some new trailers. We tested it out in person at E3 and can tell you its definitely not Singstar or anything near it. Its no where near what Microsoft has done with its Lips franchise. This game carries authenticity and represents the culture without being cheesy or just plain wack. Largely because hip hop’s most influential brand Def Jam is behind it. The good people at 4mm have a hit on their hands.

I have been wanting a game like Def Jam Rapstar for a long time, yes we have Rock Band and Guitar Hero which every once in a while throw a Public Enemy song our way, but it never caters to the hip-hop enthusiast. Def Jam Rapstar is for the true hip-hop fan, a game that has you spitting lyrics like Kanye and does not allow for you to hum along with the song. Not much is known about the track list just yet, but “Put On” from Young Jeezy and “Gold-digger” by Kanye West are confirmed.

So you like the whole idea of Rock Band and Guitar Hero, but you're not into The Beatles, Van Halen, or No Doubt, and Green Day is the term you use for the chronic. Sure you can get some Hip Hop love from DJ Hero, but the thought of lining Bobby Kotick's pocket with more cash makes you want to put a cap in a Game Stop managers ass.
